Every member of Victory Baptist Church has a place to grow in faith and serve alongside others.
Children's Ministry is an auxiliary group designed and structured to take care of the spiritual, social, emotional, and physical concerns of the children. The ministry comprises young people aged 19 and below, grouped under three main departments — Toddlers, Intermediate, and Teens — with each member worshipping according to their age group.
The children's ministry is set out to Encourage, Exhort, Edify and Evangelize through strategies, entertainment outreaches, and discipleship — providing Bible studies, sermons, devotionals and challenges that inform, convict, encourage and challenge young people with God's Word, and training them to study and memorize Scripture for themselves.
"You are invited to fellowship with us this and every Sunday from 8:00am to 11:00am. We love you and we will make you feel at home in the presence of God. God bless and sustain you as He perfects everything that concerns you. Shalom." — Note from the Superintendent
The Women's Missionary Union is a Baptist organization of women, girls, and pre-school children devoted to teaching, promoting, and supporting missions.
WMU began as a group of Baptist women who prayed together for the formation of Baptist Missionary societies — the same movement that sent William Carey to India as a missionary. In 1888, women from across the southern United States organized their Women's Missionary Union. Missionary work among Baptist women reached Africa in 1949; Nigerian women organized their union in 1919, and in 1947, women from several Gold Coast Baptist congregations met in Sekondi, holding the Gold Coast WMU's first meeting on 17th July 1947 — ten years before Ghana's independence.
Through the faithfulness of Mr. and Mrs. John Adewole, who came to the Asante Region (specifically Boameng), Baptist work grew among the Asantes, and Mrs. Adewole worked with women in each new church to start a WMU, later becoming the first field worker among Baptist women. In 1961, WMU headquarters moved to Ejura, where the Women's Retreat and Resource Centre stands today.
National leadership has included Ms. Mary D. Stampley (Youth Director, 1962), Mrs. H.R. Littleton (Director, 1964), Mrs. Felicia Boadi (National President, 1966–1972), Mrs. Abenkwa (through 1986), Mrs. Juliana Adu-Gyamfi (1986–1992), and more recently Mrs. Alice Donkor, Mrs. Philomena Wireku, and Mrs. Beatrice Doodo. Madam Adeloude Owusu has served as coordinator for the union since 1986.
WMU helps every woman grow spiritually, physically, socially, and economically through prayer, Bible study, stewardship, and personal service. At Victory Baptist Church, this happens through bi-weekly meetings on Mondays, bi-monthly zonal meetings, quarterly Association meetings, and an annual national conference each August or early September.
