Evangelism & Missions

Our Vision

The Great Commission

To fulfill the Great Commission by sharing the Gospel and establishing strong, life-giving local fellowships everywhere.

Who We Are

Our Evangelism Committee

The Evangelism Committee serves as the outward-facing engine of Victory Baptist Church. Its primary mission is to mobilize, equip, train, and lead our congregation in fulfilling the Great Commission — boldly declaring the timeless truth that Jesus Christ is still 100% Savior. Anchored in our foundational philosophy of proclaiming the Gospel in both word and deed, the committee ensures that our faith is expressed through clear message and compassionate action.

Rather than doing all the outreach work in isolation, the committee acts as strategic planners, trainers, and facilitators. They bridge the gap between our church walls and the surrounding community by organizing high-impact outreach initiatives, training members to share their testimonies, and serving those in need to reflect the transformative love of Christ.

Our Roots

A Brief History

The Evangelism Committee has been an essential part of Victory Baptist Church from the very day the church was founded. In the early days, outreach began through simple, faithful actions: members visited people in their homes, built personal relationships, and welcomed new faces into the growing church family.

As the church expanded, this passion for outreach was given a formal structure. Today, the committee operates on an annual cycle where new members are officially accepted and announced to the congregation each year, stepping up to take on the work of local ministry and soul-winning.

Throughout its history, the committee has been guided by dedicated spiritual leaders who have kept the focus firmly on proclaiming Jesus Christ as 100% Savior. Past committee heads, including Deacon Simon Darkwa and Rev. Isaac Ayeh, laid a strong foundation through their faithful leadership, sacrificial service, and commitment to reaching the lost. Their legacy continues to inspire the committee’s ongoing work in word and deed today.

Core Activities

How We Reach Out

The Evangelism Committee carries out its mission of proclaiming the Gospel in word and deed through five main areas. Tap any area to see how it works.

1. Direct Outreach & Community Engagement Door-to-door ministry, community events, and specialized care
  • Door-to-Door & Street Ministry: Conducting scheduled neighbourhood visitations to hand out gospel tracts, preach the good news, engage in personal conversations, and guide individuals to make a decision to accept Jesus Christ as Savior.
  • Local Community Events: Building strong relationships with neighbours through practical acts of service and community care, including:
    • Communal Labour Activities: Organizing volunteer efforts to clean, tidy, and improve local surroundings.
    • Health Screening Fairs: Offering free medical check-ups and health care guidance to local residents.
    • Community Breakfast Outreach (“One Member, One Soul”): Hosting free community breakfasts where every church member invites and shares a meal with at least one non-believer to share the love of Christ in a warm setting.
    • Specialized Ministries: Bringing hope, prayer, and practical support to people in difficult circumstances through organized outreach visits to local prisons, hospitals, nursing homes, and care shelters.
2. Equipping & Training the Congregation Workshops and seminars that turn members into witnesses
  • Evangelism Workshops: Teaching church members how to share their personal faith stories simply and effectively.
  • Gospel Presentation Seminars: Training members in practical soul-winning tools, such as the Four Spiritual Laws or story-based gospel presentations.
3. Follow-Up & Assimilation Welcoming visitors and grounding new believers
  • Visitor Engagement: Reaching out promptly to first-time church guests through phone calls or warm home visits to pray with them, and extend a personal welcome.
  • Referral to Baptism & Discipleship Classes: Guiding and recommending new converts to join the church’s baptism and foundation classes so they can grow grounded in their faith.
  • Connecting to Church Groups: Helping new believers and visitors integrate into the life of Victory Baptist Church through small groups, such as auxiliary or ministry groups, area fellowships, and Bible study classes.
4. Church Planting & Expansion Establishing and growing new daughter churches
  • Community Needs Assessment: Researching local area demographics and pressing needs to determine where a new church is needed and how to tailor outreach strategies effectively.
  • House-to-House & Evangelistic Outreaches: Going house to house and information centers in target communities to preach the Gospel and offering free medical screening fairs as a doorway to build trust.
  • Film Crusades & Open-Air Preaching: Using Christian film shows and open-air crusade meetings in unreached areas to win souls and plant new daughter churches.
  • Supervision & Growth: Mentoring, supporting, and supervising newly established daughter churches until they reach full maturity and independence.

Where existing fellowships are struggling rather than newly planted, we also come alongside them through church adoption — providing resources, leadership, and renewed support to keep their light shining in their community.

5. School Outreaches & Campus Ministries Reaching the next generation in schools and on campus
  • Institutional Visitation: Visiting basic schools, senior high schools (SHSs), and tertiary institutions across Ghana to preach the Gospel and share salvation messages with students and staff.
  • Planting & Strengthening Groups: Establishing and supporting Junior National Union of Baptist Students (JNUBS) in basic and secondary schools, as well as National Union of Baptist Students (NUBS) fellowships on university and tertiary campuses.
  • Discipleship & Leadership Support: Providing ongoing mentorship, spiritual guidance, and resources to help campus executive teams run effective fellowships.
  • Christian Literature Distribution: Providing Bibles and Christian reading materials to students to ground them in their faith and guide their new life in Christ.
Our Aims

What We’re Working Toward

Fulfill the Great Commission

Boldly proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ across our local community and beyond, inviting individuals to make a personal decision to accept Him as 100% Savior.

Demonstrate Faith in Action

Show the transformative love of God by combining gospel preaching with practical community service — such as communal labour, health screening fairs, and community breakfasts.

Equip & Empower Members

Train every member of Victory Baptist Church to confidently share their personal testimony and present the Gospel using effective outreach tools.

Nurture New Believers

Ensure every visitor and new convert receives warm follow-up, guiding them into baptism, discipleship classes, area fellowships, and active ministry groups.

Expand Through Church Planting

Identify unreached communities, conduct film crusades and house-to-house outreach, and successfully establish and supervise strong daughter churches until they reach full maturity.

Reach the Next Generation

Win young people to Christ through targeted school outreaches, establish and strengthen JNUBS and NUBS fellowships, and equip students with Christian literature for spiritual growth.

Bring Hope to the Vulnerable

Extend the mercy and compassion of Christ to those in isolated or difficult circumstances through specialized visits to prisons, hospitals, nursing homes, and shelters.

Committee Life

When We Meet

The committee keeps a flexible, program-driven schedule rather than a fixed calendar — meeting whenever necessary based on upcoming events, outreaches, and operational needs. The date and time for each subsequent meeting are agreed and fixed at the close of the previous one, with special emergency and planning sessions called ahead of major campaigns, film crusades, health screening fairs, or new church planting initiatives.
